Movement of Water-Displacing Objects

We develop the mathematical models describing real time behaviors of water-displacing objects on the surface of the water in order to solve both research and educational problems.

The Computer Modelling Laboratory allows for:

  • Imitations of the object based on tests of the scaled model in wind tunnels. As a result, in all three channels the tension from the force sensors is calculated into the forces acting on the model for each angle of rotation and speed of the air flow;
  • Determination of the zone of admissible speeds and positions of the object according to the parameters of the stall flow and force loads on the object.

Development of mathematical models can be done in environments such as ANSYS and UniFlow, or in C, C++, and C#. The customer receives the model as a firmware or dll.

The necessary input data to develop model and control includes:

  • Theoretical drawing of the simulated object with dimensions. Its moving parts' limitations;
  • The monitoring system information (including sensors) for further evaluation of the accuracy of the model.
